Nickel and sulfur codoped TiO2 nanoparticles for efficient visible light photocatalytic activity

Abstract In this work, Nickel (Ni) and sulfur (S) codoped TiO 2 nanoparticles were prepared by a sol-gel technique. The as-prepared catalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), FT-Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), transmission (TEM), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS) for investigating crystal structure, phase, particle size bandgap of these samples. photocatalytic performances all the catalysts have been investigated degradation methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. It noticed that Ni-S (Ni-S/TiO ) exhibited much higher activity compared with pure, Ni S doped due to absorption probable decrease in recombination photo-generated charges. decided great created formation impurity states near both edges collection, which works as trapping sites photogenerated charges process.
